Community Members of West Oakland,

The West Oakland BART Station Development Team is pleased to share that on June 23, 2016 the BART Board of Directors approved an extension of our Exclusive Negotiating Agreement along with a schedule of activities proposed to move the project along. One of the key tasks in the schedule was to establish a Community Advisory Council to work with us over the next year. This idea of a community council was presented at the last community meeting.

Today, the West Oakland BART Station (WOBS) Development Team is announcing the formation of a Community Advisory Council (CAC) for the West Oakland BART Station Development. We are seeking nine (9) individuals representing local residents and businesses with unique knowledge and skills to help ensure that the development process stays connected to West Oakland residents, businesses and organizations.

Community Advisory Council members must live or represent a business in West Oakland, in the area bordered by Interstate 880, Beach Street, Shellmound Street/40th Street, Horton Street, Yerba Buena Avenue, Hollis Street, Interstate 580, Interstate 980, Castro Street, 2nd Street, property boundaries, Magnolia Street, and 3rd Street.
